Alyre Gautreau, 80 of Gautreau Village, NB, passed away at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton, NB, on Sunday May 19, 2002 after a brief illness.
 He was born in Gautreau Village, NB on October 13, 1921, son of the late Eloi Gautreau and Thildée Gautreau. He worked for the Department of Transportation for 25 years before retirement and was a member of the Golden Age Club of Pré-d'en-Haut.
He is survived by his wife Irène (Melanson) Gautreau; one daughter Denise (Francis) LeBlanc of St-Joseph; three sisters, Emerise Gautreau of St-Joseph, Stella (Ronald) Cormier of Pré-d'en-Haut, Ella (Alcide) Robichaud of Dieppe; one brother Albert (late Violette) Gautreau of Gautreau Village; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters Bertina and Evangéline; brothers Arthur, Aurele and Clovis.
Resting at Dupuis Funeral Home with Funeral services from Notre Dame de l'Annonciation Roman Catholic Church, Pré-d'en-Haut on Wednesday May 22, 2002 at 7pm. Interment in the Parish Cemetery.
